Bechdel Film Fest is seeking local artists and graphic designers to create a design for t-shirts, posters, and promotional materials.
What we are looking for:
A design that highlights the foundation and heartbeat of the Bechdel Film Fest. The Bechdel test, first appearing in Alison Bechdel's 1985 comic strip, presents three rules: at least two female characters, who are given names, and talk to each other about something other than a man or boy. Today, just half of films produced meet these simple requirements, and media aimed towards children and teens is even bleaker in terms of on-screen females with their own narrative arc. At the Bechdel Film Fest, we're celebrating women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community which are often overlooked on screen, and we plan to highlight Akron as the inclusive community it is.
Original Design Submission Requirements:
-Design must be original work
-Designs need to be in no more than two colors
-Design should be simple enough to easily print on a shirt without losing detail.
-The file must be a VECTOR file, including these file types: Adobe Illustrator Files, CorelDraw Files
-Artwork should be submitted in a high quality image
-Designs must be appropriate and non-offensive
-Design must be sent by May, 1st, 2019. Email Submissions to email@example.com
